BLOG This isn’t really a blog, but it’s blog-like. “Behind the Scenes,” “Letters from On-Location” and “Travelogue” were too long for the menu bar. So, I decided to call it a “Travel-Blog!” I began filming Divine Sparks several years ago with a small video camera while on a painting expedition in the West Indies. The land—a St Lucia Heritage Site—looked like paradise to me. The historic guesthouse where I stayed, Balenbouche Estate, was like Out of Africa meets the Caribbean. For several years, I returned annually as an artist-in-residence. Being far from home, emailing was a wonderful way to connect with family and friends. Because the experiences at this off-the-beaten track location were so colorful, and because the emails give a flavor of what filming Divine Sparks was like, I’ll share some of them with you. Here are some photos and emails about the location and film shoot in St Lucia. Enjoy!
